I like things my way.

I’m a planner. Some people think about the next day, I’ve already planned 10 years!

I thrive on contentment and comfort .

Life has been different lately. No plans, no structure.

Plenty of what-ifs.

I’m being taught patience, hope and humility. I’m practicing…not necessarily doing.

My husband excels in it and it makes me smile.

It’s been tough, but I’ve overcome worse and others have it worse.

I return to contentment.  That’s my comfort. In that I find hope. It all begins with humility.

Hello Kitty Hospital

December 8, 2008

As much as I love Pink and Hello Kitty, I just don’t like them together. I’m a classic Kitty girl. The red, white and blue!

I found this on my favorite apartmenttherapy.com website

www.ohdeedoh.com/ohdeedoh/hot-or-not/hot-or-not-hello-kitty-maternity-hospital-071424

So nauseatingly cute. Cute over kill! Total over stimulation for newborns, mommy’s and even the hospital staff ;p

I guess whatever tickles your fancy!

Still processing

October 5, 2008

Life has been full of surprises lately. The offers that have come my way is amazing.

To begin with, a business opportunity. To work with someone I truly admire. That alone is satisfying.

An opportunity to be homeowners is still in the process. It’s something we have not aspired nor prioritized yet it’s a possibility. For someone to trust and love us this much is unfathomable.

Just yesterday I received an e-mail from someone asking me to create a Digital Scrapbook for her daughter. It’s something I enjoy doing, but to be paid for it without me ever considering the thought of selling anything I’ve created leaves me in shock! I must admit I am so flattered!

Today, I was asked if I’m available to do a bit of work at home and get paid for my time. Weird because I know nothing about sales yet I’m given this opportunity.

I’m not sure what I’ve done to deserve such kindness, but it is humbling. These opportunities can stop here and I will continue to feel blessed.

the dreaded phone

July 7, 2008

I am probably the most annoying person to reach by phone. I screen all calls, I don’t check my messages till I’m in the mood and I do not return phone calls. Terrible I know. To top it off we got rid of caller ID so if you don’t leave a message I never know you called.

As for my cell, I have a pay as you go plan, which I love. I use my cell for my personal convenience and not for the purpose of others to reach me as they please. Yes, I’m awful.

Today, just for a day, I decided that I would pick up the phone each time it rings. Mind you, no caller ID. I was doing just fine. Today, though it has not been a full 24 hours, I decided that it’s not worth it! A few hours of my day was shaken by the need of someone else. I refuse to allow anyone to have that hold over my personal time. I admit, I’m a control freak who finds joy in schedules and routine. I’m 3 hours behind on folding my laundry because of a phone call I didn’t care much for. I obliged for the sanity of the other only to find that they’re just plain inconsiderate. Yes, I’m terrible and in desperate need to be left alone with my routine and schedule.

Hubby said “picking up the phone isn’t so bad.” No it’s not so bad if you’re not a crazy control freak!

In conclusion, in case of emergency never have me as a contact!

Americana on Brand

May 16, 2008

Hubby and I have been there plenty of times. Beard Papa’s, Coffee Bean and H&M are our favorite stops.

Very family oriented but the play area is always hectic therefor I don’t allow my kid’s to participate in the madness. Seriously, there are crazy children at play along with their deranged parents who allow them to behave in an inappropriate manner that it makes me and Chris exceedingly paranoid. The word paranoid is a subtle understatement.

By far my favorite store is H&M. It sure beats having my children’s summer wardrobe delivered from the New Jersey and New York store, which consequently I have done for the past seven years. JC and Mika’s wardrobe were purchased early this Spring at a much lower cost being that there’s no tax in the East Coast. I’ve been very fortunate. From now on I have the luxury of actually going into the store and making the purchase myself. I’ve done just that…more than once since H & M opened. The only draw back is sales tax and the fact that the LA area boosted prices making H&M over priced for image sake. Go figure. The lifestyle here is very different. Image is everything. I’m willing to pay for the image and tax at H&M. The savings is acceptable compared to our usual Gap and Old Navy splurge.

With regards to Beard Papa’s, $3.75 for cream puff is an outrage because it only cost $1.50 in the Philippines once converted into Pesos of course. Non the less it’s Bear Papa’s! Always worth the cost according to my children’s review. We bought them a dozen a week ago. It lasted two days. It also beats having to drive all the way to Santa Monica to get our cream puff on.

Coffee Bean has transferred many of their employees from the Glendale Blvd. store to the new location. That means our drink is done just the way we like.

Jodi Maroni will be available soon. Low carb splendor!

Lastly Rachel Ashwell is opening a new Shabby Chic store at the Americana. My joy is complete!
